Design Fringe, the new evolution of Melbourne Fringe’s longest-running program, Fringe Furniture, will be making its home at Linden New Art in 2022.

This year’s provocation is Design the Future: Don’t Waste Time, which spotlights the global challenge of sustainability.

Designers and audiences are asked to consider their relationships with objects by looking to the past and the future of design to better inform purchase decisions and to explore notions of necessity, novelty and obsoletion.

Register your EOI by August 1st,  with the second round of information collection in about two weeks, so that you can tell (and show) us more then.   

Registrations close on August 1st: however, you won’t need to have all your artwork information finalised by this date!

Event Program:

In addition to the exhibition, there are commissions by local First Nations designers, an awards program judged by a panel of industry leaders, and a mentorship program that will award exhibiting artists with funding and mentorship to create a new work to exhibit in Design Fringe in 2023.  

A live awards presentation will take place in September this year, awith talks and networking events held during the program.
