From custom motorbikes to architectural hardware
Massimo grew up in the UK. His Italian father’s branding agency worked with Armani, Fendi, Valentino and Harrods. Massimo trained as an architect, working with Foster + Partners and Richard Rogers.
By night, he built custom motorcycles and machined metal in his garage. When bike clients asked for pieces for their homes, Buster + Punch was born in Shoreditch, East London, in the early 2010s.
Whilst working professionally as an architect, they couldn’t find appropriate hardware, and Massimo flagged that his side gig had been creating products for private clients, and embarked on a collab for that project. That became Buster+ Punch, which now sells in more than 70 countries.
For more than a decade, its hardware, lighting and switches have centred on the cylinder. Massimo says Buster + Punch was the first brand to design these everyday fittings as one family.
Hex: Art Deco references, six sides
The brand’s most ambitious launch, Hex is the first collection to launch across every core category at once. Where earlier collections were circular, Hex takes its cue from Art Deco and mid-century geometry. Massimo explained that the six-sided form carries through everything, from light switches and lighting to drawer pulls.
One profile, inside and out
The hexagonal profile runs through door handles, cabinet hardware, switches, dimmers and lighting. Buster + Punch machines each piece from solid metal, and interchangeable end caps allow mixed-metal finishes, another first for the brand.
Hex lighting is modular, with wall, suspended and chandelier pieces, each with or without a shade. A two-stage colour temperature, switching between 2700K and 3000K, shifts the light from functional to atmospheric.
Outdoors, the brand’s first entrance pull bar, in marine-grade 316 stainless steel, sits alongside IP65 wet-rated wall lights. PVD coatings add durability.
