ADA TALK :: Melb Design Week, Ben McCarthy, Woods Bagot, GoHome

ADA director Anne-Maree Sargeant joins the gohome team for the launch of Ben McCarthy’s Utility collection at an event in collaboration with Sculptform during Melbourne Design Week.

The launch will be punctuated by a designer-led panel discussion about the role utility and aesthetics play in the future of Australian design held within the spectacular confines of the Woods Bagot-designed space.

gohome is a modern Australian furniture design brand whose holistic approach and use of recyclable and environmentally friendly materials mirrors the relaxed Australian lifestyle by creating quality, design-led furniture. After a few years in development, the new Utility chair & stool collection extends this brand philosophy and celebrates form and function in equal measures.

“Inspired by the robust function of tools, the chair is a tool for life,” says Ben McCarthy, the designer of the Utility collection. ” We wanted to build something that lasts. It does an honest job and does it well. It’s a classic silhouette with highly refined details, which I think will be well received by the Australian market.”
