AWARDS I TDF DESIGN AWARDS – $30,000 Cash Prizes

The Design Files Awards

The Design Files Awards

We are proud to support TDF Design Awards.

The powerhouse behind Australia’s most widely read design blog Lucy Feagins has announced the debut edition of The Design Files DESIGN AWARDS!

With $30,000 prize money awarded across 12 categories, Lucy and her team have their finger on the breadth of the current creative climate, evident within the 12 categories. Winners will be announced in a ceremony at Deakin Edge, Federation Square on September 19, 2019.

Great architecture, design and creative projects push culture forward in the same way as fine art, literature and the performing arts. But it’s also become clear that design is something that can easily appear inaccessible to many, and almost ‘invisible’ to a wide audience.

KEY DATES & INFO

Eligible projects during January 01, 2018 and April 7th 2019 can be entered.

The Design Files AwardsWe spoke with Lucy who shared with us the impetus to create an award program that embraces lesser recognised creative practice.

“After running The Design Files for over a decade the cultural importance of design and creativity in Australia needs to be celebrated in a new way.

Great architecture, design and creative projects push culture forward in the same way as fine art, literature and the performing arts. But it’s also become clear that design is something that can easily appear inaccessible to many, and almost ‘invisible’ to a wide audience.

The Design Files is all about making Australian design and creativity visible, and accessible.

That’s why we wanted to create an awards program that recognises architecture and interiors alongside lesser celebrated categories like furniture and lighting design, textile design, handcrafted design, and even styling and art direction.

We see all these creative disciplines as connected, and together they contribute so much to Australia’s cultural capital.”
